(See below)
Come dance, sweat, be joyful and move what needs to be moved!
(most) 1st and 3rd Sundays (check out our weekly schedule below)!
Deer Hill 7850 Road 41, Mancos
Some mornings and some afternoons, but always on Sunday!
What to expect
This is family-friendly event and a free-form dance. You do not need dance experience to participate! Most dances will be accompanied by a playlist, as opposed to a live DJ. We will play a mix of danceable music, including world beats, tribal, electronic and organic sounds, following a typical ecstatic dance "wave" format (meaning slower at the beginning and end and more upbeat in the middle). Please note, we are holding this dance space as an opportunity to deep dive into the practice, go inward and move what wants to be moved. This is not meant to be just a dance party, but a meaningful and healing experience.

Guidelines and Policies
-Conversations and cell phone use should be kept outside.
-No video or photography is allowed in the dance space during the dance!
-Parents need to keep tabs on their children and make sure they are not being overly-disruptive or damaging the space or equipment in any way. That being said, they are free to run around and play. We ask that you keep them calm and quiet during the opening and closing. You are welcome to step outside with them during these times if you'd like.
-Our bathrooms are down the hill in a separate building. Please ask for directions on how to find them and please do not hang out in the other building, other than to use the restroom (we are renting the dance building only so we want to be respectful of our hosts’ space). Our dance facilitators are available for questions and directions.
-Be respectful of other dancers and mind your personal space. People being reckless or unsafe will be asked to leave.
-Dancing with others is welcome, as long as it’s done in a respectful manner. We invite curiosity, openness and playfulness on your dance journey. Holding your hands in the prayer position is a polite indication that you do not wish to dance with someone at that moment. Please always be respectful of others’ space, requests and preferences. Holding your hands in the prayer position can also be a sign to children that you do not wish to play with them in that moment.
-Please do not wander around the property or hang out outside other than near the building or parking area. We are renting the Meeting Space building only.
-There is no smoking on the premises.
-This is an alcohol and drug free event - bring your full consciousness to your practice.
-We are not responsible for injury, theft or lost or damaged property during the dance and by signing this agreement, you acknowledge that we cannot be held liable for injury or missing or damaged property. Please be mindful of your things and the limits of your body.
-Be respectful of the space we are holding. We use this time as an intentional practice and hope you will as well. We are creating sacred space together.
-If you are interested in volunteering to support this event, please contact Ashley (ashley@awakenenergymedicine.net) or talk to her at dance.
